What to Expect From Your Newborn Session

Newborn sessions are slow, calm, and baby-led. The focus is on your baby’s comfort, with plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and breaks whenever needed. Nothing is rushed, and each pose is approached gently and thoughtfully.

I guide every step of the session while paying close attention to your baby’s cues, creating images that feel soft, peaceful, and timeless. The experience is designed to feel relaxed and unhurried, allowing space for those quiet, fleeting newborn details to be captured naturally.

When to Book & What’s Included

Newborn sessions are best scheduled within the first two weeks after birth, when babies are sleepiest and most comfortable being gently posed. I recommend reaching out during pregnancy to reserve a spot, with flexibility built in once your baby arrives.

Sessions take place in your home and typically last a few hours to allow for a relaxed pace. I bring all wraps, props, and styling pieces with me, and before your session we connect by phone or email to discuss inspiration, color preferences, and the overall look you’re hoping for.

Your final images are delivered in a private, password-protected online gallery containing your full collection of professionally edited, high-resolution photos, ready to download and share.

Lifestyle Newborn Sessions

Lifestyle newborn sessions are a natural, relaxed approach to documenting life with your new baby. These sessions take place in your home and focus on connection, quiet moments, and the everyday rhythm of those early days.

I offer gentle guidance and natural posing without the use of studio props, focusing on comfort, connection, and real moments. There’s plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and settling in, allowing the session to unfold naturally and result in images that feel emotional, honest, and true to your family.

Fresh 48 Sessions

Fresh 48 sessions take place within the first 24–48 hours after birth, typically in the hospital or birth center. These sessions are simple and observational, capturing your baby just as they are in those very first moments.

There is no posing or styling involved. The focus is on small details, connection, and the emotion of welcoming your baby into the world.

Let’s plan something meaningful

Newborn sessions are best planned ahead, but I always build in flexibility once your baby arrives. Reach out to start the conversation and reserve your spot.

FAQ

Is newborn safety a priority?

Absolutely. Your baby’s comfort and safety are always my top priority. Every pose is approached gently and with full support, and I move at your baby’s pace throughout the session. If something doesn’t feel right for your baby, we simply adjust or move on.

Can parents and siblings be included?

Yes. I’m happy to include parents and siblings in a portion of the session if requested.

Do you provide props and styling?

Yes. I bring a curated collection of wraps, blankets and props. Before your session, we connect to talk through color preferences and overall style so everything feels cohesive and personal.

Where do newborn sessions take place?

All newborn sessions take place in your home. This keeps things calm, familiar, and comfortable for both baby and parents. I bring everything needed for the session, including wraps, props, and styling pieces.

How long does a newborn session last?

Newborn sessions typically last 2–3 hours. This allows plenty of time for feeding, soothing, diaper changes, and breaks as needed. The session is never rushed and always moves at your baby’s pace.

When is the best time to schedule a newborn session?

Newborn sessions are ideally photographed within the first 7–14 days after birth, when babies are sleepiest and most comfortable being gently posed. I recommend reaching out during pregnancy to reserve a spot, with flexibility built in once your baby arrives.

What if my baby doesn’t settle or sleep?

That’s completely normal! Sessions are baby-led, and we move slowly with plenty of flexibility. Whether your baby is sleepy or more alert, I adapt the session to capture beautiful, meaningful images either way.
